Once you get to Valtuille de Abajo, you will soon realise that good wine is produced here and as far as you can see the landscape is full of old, beautiful vines.

Valdetelle, as it was formerly called, is sited on the skirts of the Castro de la Ventosa, an old Roman settlement that has sheltered this small hamlet in El Bierzo for centuries, the care for the soil and the vines has always gone hand in hand.

However, the richness of this unique spot lies not only in its soil but also in its people’s character who, over time, have not forgotten who their ancestors were and the effort they made working their vines. Today, these same vines are the source of countless joys.

For this reason at Vinos Valtuille, S.L. they have a clear philosophy: well-done work, care for the soil and a primary focus on quality.

Vinos Valtuille, S.L. was established in 1999 with these inalienable principles as the foundations of the project. At that time, it was run by the head of the family, Dimas García, who later on handed the business over to his son Marcos, current manager of the business.

Although Vinos Valtuille as a business was started up in 1999, the family ties with grapes date back to centuries, as their ancestors were winemakers since the early 20th It was about 1910 when they bought the first vineyard located in Valdonaje (nowadays this has the best vines producing the wine Pago de Valdonaje Viñas Viejas).

The whole family wanted Pago de Valdoneje to be the brand representing the company and thus pay tribute to their roots and specially to their grandfather Antonio, who bequeathed them both this land and his set of values which have made them who they are today.
